A shocking music video has sparked widespread outrage after a prominent Trump-supporting rapper and country singer released a song explicitly calling for public hangings. The controversial track has ignited fierce debate about hate speech and political violence in America.

The song titled “Good vs Evil” features MAGA rapper Forgiato Blow alongside country artist JJ Lawhorn. Set against a haunting banjo melody, the chorus repeatedly chants instructions to “hang ’em up high at sundown,” directly referencing the historical “sundown towns” where racial segregation was violently enforced.

Disturbing Lyrics Reference Historical Violence

The track contains explicitly violent imagery, calling for “a big tall tree and a short piece of rope” and threatening to “leave ’em swinging so the folks all know you don’t mess around in our town.” These lyrics deliberately echo the language of America’s dark lynching history.

Forgiato Blow, whose legal name is Kurt Jantz, mentions three specific murder cases in his verse, naming victims Austin Metcalf, Laken Riley, and Iryna Zarutska. The rapper uses a racial slur when describing Zarutska’s alleged killer. Lawhorn adds his voice to the violence, singing about returning to old-fashioned justice methods because “grandaddy’s way works best.”

Artists Defend Controversial Message

Both musicians have doubled down on their message through social media. Jantz posted on Instagram declaring he’s “done being silent” about his conservative beliefs and faith. He proclaimed that “Jesus is coming back” and identified himself with the recently assassinated Charlie Kirk.

Lawhorn simply wrote “SOMEBODY HAS TO SAY IT” in capital letters when sharing the song. Jantz, who calls himself the “Mayor of MAGAville,” later posted on X asking followers if it’s “time to bring back public executions” and requesting retweets from supporters.

Social Media Erupts in Response

The music video has generated intense criticism across social platforms. Users have condemned the song as an obvious “call for violence” and pointed out the hypocrisy of right-wing figures criticizing left-wing hate speech while promoting such content.

The track has been viewed over 100,000 times on X, which is owned by Elon Musk. Critics have noted how “unsubtle” the violent messaging appears, with many questioning how such content is allowed to circulate on major platforms.

Historical Context of Lynching in America

The song’s imagery is particularly disturbing given America’s brutal lynching history. Between 1865 and 1950, more than 6,500 people were killed in racist lynching attacks, with African Americans comprising the majority of victims. The Equal Justice Initiative found how immigrants from various countries and white allies also faced lynching violence.

Congress passed the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act in 2022, making lynching a federal crime punishable by up to 30 years in prison. The law was named after the Black teenager whose 1955 murder became a catalyst for the Civil Rights movement.

Political Violence Concerns Rise

The song’s release comes amid growing concerns about political violence in America. Following Charlie Kirk’s assassination, administration officials—including Donald Trump and Republican officials—have launched investigations targeting Democratic groups they blame for creating a climate of violence.

Research shows that political violence has surged dramatically since 2016. Studies indicate nearly three times more partisan attacks occurred compared to the previous 25 years. However, data consistently shows right-wing extremists have been responsible for more deaths than any other political group over the past two decades.

This latest controversy highlights the growing tensions in American political discourse and the dangerous normalization of violent rhetoric across social media platforms, according to the-independent.
